PlayScience II. This looks like it is a follow on from play science I. The app in itself can be used as a study tool for kids. It does a recap of what they learnt in lesson 1 but I think it would be a great second app. There are quizzes asking children things they have previously learnt. Some of the questions are common knowledge and some are things they would have learnt in lesson 1, however these are all covered in the recap. There are memory games and puzzle games all related to the topic you are working on. There are 6 topics included including plants, animals and more to help your child in their learning. Could be used in a classroom setting as a fun quiz for kids, or can be used at home to practice or further their knowledge. This is a very fun little app designed to bring fun into science and learning. There are no IAP's and external links are locked from kids.

PlayScience I is an excellent iPad app for El Ed studying Science. This app covers the complete Grade 1 curriculum through interactive animations and exercises. PlayScience covers different topics such as: Plants, Animals, Our Earth, Weather and Sky, Matter, and Energy and Motion. This is a great way for teachers to engage students and "flip" their classroom through a variety of activities such as: crosswords, word association, multiple choice, T/F, and more. Finally, there is a high replay value as students earn "play money" by completing activities and buy fish, toys, or plants for their aquarium. I highly recommend checking out PlayScience I

Technology Tidbits

It's a well put together application that I think would be fun and educationally beneficial within the first grade classroom! It's an excellent app that is well thought out and put together. If you're fortunate enough to have iPads in your first grade classroom, PlayScience I is a solid resource for bolstering your curriculum through technology.
